Poshun is a technology and market analyst specializing in compound semiconductors and emerging substrates at Yole Développement (Yole). As a member of the Power Electronics and Wireless division at Yole, Poshun focuses on the power, RF, and opto-electronics segments. He is engaged in the development of technology and market reports and is also involved in custom projects. Before joining Yole, Poshun had nine years’ experience in R&D and product management at Epistar (TW and CHN). He is the author or co-author of over ten patents in solid-state-lighting. Poshun was also previously engaged in the development and evaluation of novel applications of process technology and components based on relevant semiconductor material systems. Poshun received an MSc degree in microelectronics from National Cheng Kung University (TW) and an MBA from IESEG School of Management(FR).
Automotive market is an important market for electronics devices. The trend towards the electrification and the automation of cars create enormous market opportunity for compound semiconductor, including, Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN) , Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) and Indium Phosphide (InP), either for power electronics applications or sensing applications. In this presentation, we will give Yole’s understanding of compound semiconductor adoption by automotive market.
