Mr. Jeffrey Gum has 15 years of experience in the Silicon Carbide and Silicon (Photovoltaics & Semiconductor) markets as an Engineer, Sales Director, and strategic consultant. Mr. Gum obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University and spent the first five years of his career working as a Nuclear Engineer. From there, he was hired by GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT), to lead R&D efforts in more efficient ways to make polysilicon, a pre-cursor material used in photovoltaic cells and semiconductor wafers. In 2016, GTAT pivoted to become a producer of Silicon Carbide substrate materials, and Mr. Gum took a leadership position as the Director of Global Sales until GTAT was acquired by onsemi in 2021. He now is employed by Kellenberger, a multi-national machine tool builder and is responsible for new product / business development for advanced material markets with an emphasis on the semiconductor industry.
